William Chris Vineyards creates old-world-style, authentic Texas-grown wines. Partners William Blackmon and Chris Brundrett opened the first William Chris Vineyards tasting room in 2010 in a small restored Texas farmhouse on their Hye property. The tasting room, a blend of corrugated metal and modern lines, has a large deck surrounded by country views. Reservation required for tastings on Saturday. 

Bill Blackmon and Chris Brundrett have expanded William Chris’s estate vineyards and formed lasting partnerships with independent, family-owned farms across the state to source only the highest quality Texas fruit. At William Chris, they pride themselves on sharing the genuine taste of Texas terroir while giving guests a one of a kind experience.

William Chris started with a Bordeaux-style blend of cabernet, merlot and petite verdot called Enchanté, which continues to go strong. Mary Ruth, named after Blackmon’s mother, is a blend of blanc du bois, orange muscat, and white muscat with balanced floral notes and acidity. It is one of William Chris’ most popular wines.
