Winery Spotlight: Safari Winery

Next up on our winery spotlight is the Safari Winery located at 5479 E US Hwy 290 in Fredericksburg TX. This family-owned winery first settled in Fredericksburg back in the mid 1800s, bringing six generations and counting to the thriving business. The name “Safari Winery” originates from the Swahili word “safari” meaning “journey.”

​The family has enjoyed traveling to different places to bring tastes from all over the world to their customers. Their hope is that their wines can help bring people closer together, offering a constant reminder of what life is really all about.

From wine club membership to weekly events, there’s always something going on at Safari Winery.

• Sunday: 12pm – 6pm
• Monday through Thursday: 11am – 5pm

Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are strongly recommended, especially on weekends. Check out their online shop where you can learn about and purchase any of their wines, which all hail from exotic locales throughout South Africa, Chile, and Argentina.

There’s always something going on at Safari Winery throughout the month, typically live music encompassing a wide range of musical talents, from country to jazz. Other special events take place throughout the month, such as Pickup Parties as well as one-off events. For example, they threw an eclipse viewing party back in April.

Safari Winery loves to give back to the global community, partnering with Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. This is a non-profit organization located in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. They are called upon for help when wildlife have been injured or orphaned by human interference. A percentage of all Safari Wine Club proceeds goes to supporting the Trust in conserving, protecting, and healing injured wildlife.
